Benton and Longbenton have a range of property styles and prices suitable for first-time buyers, home movers and landlords. The areas have a good mix of terraces, semi-detached, detached and apartment blocks, with valuations ranging from £90,000 to over £450,000.
The housing mainly comprises privately owned Tyneside flats, semi-detached and detached properties. A proportion of which are owned by buy-to-let property landlords.
The local government built an extensive estate of social housing in the 1950s and 1960s. The estate extends north from the local Metro train line up to the Balliol and Quorum business parks and extends from Salters Road to the west and Benton in the east.
Smaller, more modern housing estates appeared between the 1990 and 2010 just to the south of Benton Park Road. Estates include Ministry Close, Haversham Close and The Cloisters.
